Boat Harbour 2, acrylic on canvas, framed in Tasmanian oak - 43 x 43 cm

BY THE SEA - 2022

BY THE SEA pictures the playful and poignant moments of seaside holidays. Each painting has been inspired by Lynch’s early childhood memories of chasing birds, catching fish and unearthing beach treasure over Australian summers. Working with impasto and acrylics, Lynch has created touching landscapes of whimsy and memory. We hope you enjoy diving into their harkening expressiveness as much as Lynch has creating them.

SOLO EXHIBITION - SHAC - Southern Highlands Artisans Collective, Roberston NSW - Opening 5 August - 5 September, 2022 - Opening Reception 4 - 6pm, Saturday 6 August - all Welcome!

VIVIDA: Blaze, mixed media on canvas - 123 x 113cm (SOLD)

VIVIDA - 2022

VIVIDA captures the delicate beauty of floating petal landscapes in her debut Sydney solo exhibition, Vivida. In this series of works Lynch has layered hand painted and dyed transparent tissue veils to create abstract and evocative imagery of her floral subject matter. The combination of cool and warm colour hues presents a rich and vibrant effect. Lynch echoes the frayed yet spectacular fiery beauty of wild poppies as well as the calmness and serenity inspired by the soothing pigment of indigo. This series reflects Lynch’s profound attention to the colour, shape and textural qualities of nature’s alluring flowers and the sensations they conjure.

“These mixed media paintings draw on my ambition to create work that is both stirring and striking. They confirm my art-practice that inspiring work can be created through discerning observation, a deep exploration of the simplest of forms and pushing the materials’ boundaries.” – Julie Lynch
