Hello and welcome to my SPRING STUDIO NEWS!
We are a month into Spring and October looks to be bringing some beautiful weather to NSW. I have been driving to Robertson for my BY THE SEA exhibition at SHAC Gallery most weekends, and to watch the seasonal change of the Southern Highlands over the months of August and early September was an absolute joy. I loved working with SHAC Gallery, they are super friendly and organised and I met some wonderful artists and volunteers through the experience.

Opening night was a hoot, with all 3 galleries opening at the same time, a fabulous Southern Highlands and Sydney friends crowd gathered and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. My work was exhibited in Gallery 2, the largest space for paintings, and. every wall was brimming with impasto paintings of birds, insects, beach flowers, boats and sea landscapes. A big thank you to all my family, friends and followers who made the special trip to the gallery for the opening and the season - and an even bigger thank you to my husband Andrew Tighe who helped me hang the exhibition! SPRING IMPASTO PAINTING WORKSHOPS: While working at the SHAC, I met the brilliant Zoe Watson who runs GREEN DOOR STUDIOS - a dedicated space for workshops, classes, and all things creative. Zoe has invited me to run several impasto painting workshops at GDS. I have decided to expand my impasto work from my BLUSHIOUS Collection and run seasonal inspired painting workshops. The first one ‘ BLUSHIOUS: Spring Flowers’ will run on Sunday November 20. Participants will spend a day with me creating their own Spring inspired impasto painting. More can be found here as well as many other diverse creative workshops where you can dip your toes into some inspiring artisan techniques.

2023 ART CALENDARS: It’s incredible to think that 2023 will soon be upon us, having just turned my calendar page over to October, I know there are only two painting images left to get me through to the end of 2022. This year I have created 2 Calendars: a WALL CALENDAR inspired by my BY THE SEA Collection and a DESK CALENDAR containing a selection of favourites from my BLUSHIOUS and NOSTALGIA Collections. I am personally very partial to a desk calendar, I find having the dates so close to me while I am working is super useful and an inspiring image so near to me will always lift my day. The print run was small and unfortunately the desk calendars have already sold out, and my printer has sold out of desk calendar stock. So they look like they have become collector’s items! While all this creativity has been going on it’s been birthday month in September for my family - big happy birthdays to Clémentine, Pop, Claudia, Anastasia and my Mum. So lucky to be able to celebrate with you all - next birthday…Zander! So excited for your 1st birthday little guy x
