Hello friends,
Julie with some of her works from her INDIGO DREAMS Collection.
The dust has settled a little since I launched my new collection INDIGO DREAMS over the weekend, it was very exciting to invite you to visit my site to see a complete body of work. The collection has generated a lot of interest and new subscribers to my VIP List from around the world, so I thought I would say thank you and also to tell you a little bit more about me beyond the bio on my website.
I live with my husband Andrew and Marrickville Golf President - in Sydney’s Inner-West. I originally trained in Graphic Design, then Stage Design and worked as a costume/set designer and teacher for three - nearly four decades and was Design Director at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) before delving into Visual Art in 2021. Working as a Visual Artist has always been one of my great ambitions, and the pandemic was exactly the right catalyst for me to step away from my comfort zone and embark on a new adventure. Despite the shadow of the pandemic, I have loved every creative minute of 2021.
This year, as well as playing with paint, I have been playing with my first granddaughter Clémentine, she appears every now and then on my Instagram and has many, many more followers than me. By the end of the year my 3 daughters will all have children, with a new grandson expected in November and granddaughter on my birthday this New Year’s Eve. Life couldn’t be brighter and it’s about to get very busy!
Today Sydney comes out of its 4 month lockdown - this afternoon I am going to drive over to Engadine, where my youngest and very pregnant daughter lives ( who I haven’t seen since June) and swap over a painting that she has been minding for me that has recently sold. I can’t wait to get in the car and do what use to be just normal - to drop into a loved one, have a cup of coffee and a hug. That’s all anyone really needs, a painting, a coffee and a hug!
